Business Strategy | Brand & Product Marketing | Global Markets

I’m a marketing strategist who loves both the creative work and the thinking behind it. I’m drawn to products that people choose, own, and build parts of their lives around, and to the strategy that makes them worth choosing. I build brand and product strategies for products that deliver real value to customers, from understanding the audience to launching in markets.

My curiosity started during my undergraduate years at the University of Washington, where I took marketing and advertising classes. I was intrigued by consumer psychology and what made people buy products. I was working part-time at Bath & Body Works and was fascinated by the displays and advertising there. It was colorful, smelled good, and made me feel happy. I realized I wanted to be the person who designed the brands behind products people love.

After graduating with my Bachelors, I moved to Japan and worked with the Yokohama Board of Education. It taught me to listen first and see a message through someone else’s eyes. I’m fluent in English, Japanese, and Spanish, and that perspective shapes how I approach every market.

In marketing, I’ve partnered with Microsoft on co-marketing campaigns with SAP and NVIDIA, managed the go-to-market execution for Amazon Business’s Back to School campaign, and been part of a team that rebuilt the brand at HICC Pet America while owning product and ecommerce across North America and APAC. There I ran launches, omnichannel campaigns, and trade shows, using segmentation and storytelling to grow engagement and retention.

My MBA – Western Washington University

I decided to pursue my MBA while working at HICC Pet. A senior co-worker with an MBA gave me valuable, critical feedback. She told me I was an excellent creative marketer, but I lacked perspective on the other business functions, especially finance and accounting, and that was limiting my ability to create exceptional strategies. I also lacked the data and analytical skills to build truly data-driven strategies. My skills were focused on the creative side, and I needed to strengthen the analytical side to be exceptional in my trade. Many people call themselves “marketers,” but there is a difference between content creators and true marketing strategists. I wasn’t aiming to be a good content marketer. I wanted to become the best, a leader who builds differentiated brands that hold up in a competitive environment, and teams that perform at the highest level.

In my MBA at Western Washington University, I learned these data-driven strategy and analytical skills, and I also gained real people-management and team-leadership experience as the lead Program Manager of the VITA program, where I trained a team of 40+ IRS-certified volunteers to prepare taxes for the public.

In my Marketing Management course, I ran a company as CEO through a 16-quarter Harvard Business simulation, and it taught me to build strategy on data rather than instinct. I started with a situation analysis, SWOT, and competitive analysis, then used segmentation and customer acquisition cost to decide which customers to prioritize and where spending earned a return. I revisited those numbers every quarter as competitors moved. The hard lessons were just as valuable. Cutting price to win share eroded margins, and overspending on acquisition hurt satisfaction and profit until I shifted toward retention. I came away with a rule I still use, which is to calculate before committing resources, check the data every cycle, and balance growth investment against margin.

My MBA gave me the analytical strength to match my creative background. I can now build data-driven strategy, evaluate the financial case behind a decision, and lead a team through execution. I use AI to augment analysis, and I rely on my own judgment and data to decide what to do with it. I bring that combination to brand and product roles where creativity and business results both matter.

If you’re growing brands that cross borders, let’s talk.
